ELEN LLOYD ROBERTS

SOPRANO

Welsh soprano Elen Lloyd Roberts is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Durham University. She enjoys a varied career as a soloist and ensemble singer and is just as at home on the operatic stage as she is on the concert platform.

For the 24/25 season, she joins Utopia Choir and Orchestra for their production of Rameau’s Castor et Pollux at the Palais Garnier, Opéra national de Paris, under the direction of Teodor Currentzis and Peter Sellars.

They return to the Salzburger Festspiele in August for two concert performances of the opera.

She will also be singing with the ensemble for a revival of their concert production of Purcell’s The Indian Queen in Paris, Antwerp and Berlin.

Elen is delighted to have been selected as the soprano soloist for the 2025 Salvat Beca Bach Grant in association with the Salvat Foundation, Bach Collegium Barcelona and Bachcelona Consort. Over the year, she will join the ensembles for concerts at the Palau de la Música Catalana, Festival Femàs (Sevilla), Sastamala Gregoriana (Finland), Montserrat Abbey, Festival Espurnes Barroques (Barcelona), the Bachcelona Festival and Stockholm Early Music Festival, and will work with conductors Laurence Cummings and Paul Agnew.

"Elen Lloyd Roberts was a sassy Marzelline... confident and clear, with a nice bloom to the voice, soaring comfortably at the top of the Act 1 quartet"
